Kids Obstacle Course Race Event 2015
Junior Northwest OCR, Lancaster
After the success of our first kids obstacle course race in June alongside the adults OCR, we now have a kids only event in August 29, 2015. The kids have a choice of 1 or 2 miles completing 15 or 30 obstacles. It’s their choice whether to come to the podium for their medal after completing one lap or if they feel tough enough to go round again!
Best kids obstacle course race event in the North West
We are the only children-only OCR event of this scale that we know of. And we have medals, t-shirts and other goodies for all participants. They also get lots of mud, water, climbing and crawling obstacles and hay bales galore! Not content to just put on a kids obstacle course, our aim is for everyone taking part saying that it was the best day of their summer holidays! It will be a longer and better course than our June event with more obstacles and lots more time to focus on the stars of the show… and our professional photographers will capture all the kids in action with photographs being printed on the day if you want to take a memento home.
OCR age groups
We will have starting waves for 6-8 year olds, 9-11 year olds and 12-14 year olds. We recommend 6-8 year olds complete the 1 mile course and 9-11 year olds complete 2 miles with a second lap. We’ll also have a separate wave for 12-14 year olds who we’ll definitely expect to do two laps, but kids can decide on the day if it’s best to come home after 1 or 2 miles to collect their medal.
There will be between 4 and 6 starting waves, with the earliest wave at 11:15am and the latest at 1:45pm. You’ll be welcome to join the wave of your choice for the age category (full details early August).
Of the 15 main obstacles the kids can enjoy among other things a slide, net crawl, ramp climb, marsh/mud pit, stream scramble, a carry challenge, a net climbing obstacle, hay bales, starting pens with hay bales and ropes, ‘coffin’ tyre crawl, balance obstacle, bungee cord maze. There will be a few more surprises on the day too!
Set alongside the River Lune on the Caton side of the river, the entire course is on private land with some great natural terrain. It’s just a mile from J34 on the M6 (Lancaster) with easy access and private event parking close to the course.
